But…yes, I’m chucking the DIY approach and capitulating. And there’s been no kicking, no screaming, no tantrums. I knew deep inside it would eventually come to this.

Welcome to the world of WordPress! I’m a newbie too – just got finished customizing my site to look as un-WordPress as possible, while still retaining the benefits (*widgets*). I’ve lurked on your blogs in the past & have always been impressed by your style & entertained by what you have to say.
You may find that WordPress support runs hot and cold. There always seems to be someone ready to tell you that you aren’t asking the right way & you need to search the phrase “xyz” – which always turns up a list of dozens of posts with the same guy not answering the question in the same way. But help is there to be found, if you’re resourceful.
I’m looking forward to seeing what fresh magic you perform in this iteration of SCS!

Weeeeellll… I wouldn’t say beaming with glee, per se — I know you did enjoy the DIY approach while it lasted, so I’m sorry to see it end — but I’m glad to see you on board the WP train. Did you have any trouble setting it up? Looks like you didn’t waste any time finding a theme, though I suspect you’ll soon be coding away on your own more personalized site design.
Still more to come via e-mail — I’ve been rather sick since last week (though I’ve since recovered from the fevers). Yet I have, as always, been thinking of you and wishing you well. *hugs*
Now I’ll have to subscribe to your new RSS feed! And do let me know if you need any help with WP. I admit that I know very little about widgets since I designed (and am quite satisfied with) Wesoteric and SC long before those became the rage, but I have learned quite a bit about other stuff and valuable WP resources. :)

Wesatronic, work with me! =) You know what pushed me over the edge? When a) your comment got emailed to Paul and b) when I saw the other comments you’d left and I’d never seen. No trouble setting up – I had someone at my webhost do it for me. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been sick…but at least the fevers are gone.
