Upcoming events
Mark your calendars - I’ll be a guest on Irrelephant’s radio program Sunday, May 11 at 1600 PDT for an installment aptly titled Strange Cousin Susan. I’m ashamed to say I’ve yet to listen to his show on a regular - or even semi-regular basis. Without the pressure of wrapping up an always-too-short weekend on Sundays now, perhaps I’ll have a better chance. That reminds me: I need to download flip4mac to listen for some odd reason. I can get into the chat room with no problem and have done on a few occasions, but to actually listen has proven another challenge altogether. Hmmm. Perhaps I can tackle that tonight, if I’m awake at 0230 like I was this morning. Fuck, that’s sick. Sick. Sick. Sick.
The countdown for my now two-week vacation to see Star and Bar is official since it’s May 1. Two weeks from today…I can hardly wait. This picture is of the little darlings from the sister’s Flickr set announcing Bar’s One Year. Notice how Star takes center stage, even when the shot is ostensibly focused on Bar, and further cements herself as the primary focal point by making that face.
Yup, that’s my girl. The sister tells me Star has already exhibited Auntie Mickey behavioral traits, even at her young age. One I’ve actually witnessed is her propensity for finding a puddle in a parking lot and walking right through it, a la Auntie Mickey. The sister tells me Star’s recently started to backtrack and walk through a puddle, then turn around and walk back through it. Ah, we’re going to have such great fun, Star and I as she grows up. I’m only hoping Bar picks up some of her older sister’s ways…
Although it’s no longer an upcoming event, I am happy to report surviving the nastiness I found behind my refrigerator this afternoon. Instead of taking a nap, as I’ve been wont to do these past few days, I decided doing something productive would be more, well…productive. Let me tell you, what I saw was enough to scare me. It took four or five passes to get the floor taken care of; it’s still not 100%, but that’s because the cheap linoleum started to pull up and wrinkle when I had the behemoth fridge when I first moved into the villa. I’ve got a more normal size appliance now, but the damage to the floor has been done. God, that was disgusting - and much of it was Molly residue. Ick.
Next up in that vain will be washing the windows and screens. I think the last time this was attempted could easily have been five years ago or so, when Tat Boi and I were co-habitating. I think I’ll tackle that tomorrow, unless I’m up at 0230 this morning and have found the installation of flip4mac complete. At least washing windows is relatively quiet; of course, I would probably only address the inside at that time of the morning.
sarah!
