Doctor Who welcomes (adorable) new companion Sarah Jane Smith to the TARDIS in part one of “The Time Warrior.”

Perhaps welcomes isn’t exactly the best word to use…

(Crap. I did just post that, didn’t I?)

Even the slightest sprinkle can send the newspeople in Southern California into an orgiastic fit of overkill. With amount of rain predicted to fall today, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if at least a handful of these newscasters died with smiles on their faces.

What my sarcasm doesn’t reveal is that in the mountains, the rain will be snow and therefore, STORM WATCH is an apt moniker and one I don’t snort at derisively and mutter to myself about doing time in the midwest and the east coast for most of my life, where storms is storms.

With the education I received yesterday about widgets and how exciting they can be and how much work they can take out of tweaking a theme (although in my ignorance, said widgets didn’t take any work out of the unscheduled tweaking yesterday at all),  I was able to rework the sidebar content with some amount of ease. After I remembered how difficult this particular theme can be to work with, that is.

One unexpected addition to the sidebar content was the reintroduction of the blogroll. The first time out, I put all my bookmarks from delicious in, but then realized almost immediately that it was far too much. So I culled it to just a proper blogroll, which is to say blogs. Not movie sites. Not reference sites. Just blogs. Plain and simple. As I was clicking through the list, I realized how long it had been since I’d visited a couple of them. Dragonfly  Purity of mycomplexsimplicity has been MIA since June and I wonder where she’s got to. I sent her email a while ago, but never heard anything back.

As for my hoped-for Brian Miller sighting last night, it never happened. I know the name of his character, but as with so many Doctor Who serials, I’m never quite sure of anyone’s name who isn’t a regular character. Maybe that’s because I don’t pay enough attention, or perhaps it’s because I’m not the fan I like to think I am. Either way, I spent a lot of time squinting and talking to myself last night, declaring, “That’s *got* to be him…he looks to be the right age, or at least close…nah, I don’t think so. He looks too old!” or the reverse of that: “He’s cute, but he’s *far* too young.” Brian Miller = Dugdale, but I’ll be goddamned if I’ve even heard the name Dugdale mentioned and I’m half-way through.
