It’s something that’s not so very new, but because I’ve changed my diet so drastically over the past ten months, it’s definitely more noticeable these days. A few days before my period starts, I crave junk food. And I don’t mean thinking about eating chips and moving on with whatever I’m working on because I don’t have any in the house. I will go to the store in the most extreme cases and come out with the junk food I’m craving. Normally it’s salt I crave above anything else, but this past weekend, it was fast food and movie popcorn and candy bars and chips and soda and more soda and more chips and more popcorn and more fast food…
It doesn’t necessarily concern me that I take in more calories in a day during that time of the month than I probably do in a week normally, because I know it will abate and eventually disappear until the next month. Also adding to my lack of concern is this: I totally lose my appetite the day my period starts and don’t really get it back until the end. It’s not to say I don’t eat, because I do – I have to, or I’ll get headaches, but eating typically isn’t done to stop the rumbling in my tummy.
I’ve also noticed that since I’ve changed my diet and increased my exercise, I am not prone to the PMS/DMS like I was. Except in some cases, like today when I snapped at Oscar. But overall, PMS and any other fucked up mood swings are pretty much a thing of the past. And my cramps are not as strong, either.
And thus ends the telling of the Weird Mickey Glitter Facts.
