The results are in!
Since I never go by the results I’ve gotten on any poll I’ve created at strange cousin susan, mainly because I vote – and vote often – in my own polls, mine 2010 calendar will be no different. Thanks to whoever voted for Summer Glau (I know a couple of people who could have cast that one) – I may branch out and do a combo Summer/Lena calendar in addition to the second year for a Doctor Who calendar. Except it won’t really be a Doctor Who calendar. It’s going to be a companion calendar, just like the few I made last year were.
So, the final decision is leaning towards a Liz Shaw calendar, though I strongly suspect I cast both votes for her; I’d also like to draw your attention to the lack of votes ourn Sarah! Jane! Smith! received. That was clearly an oversight on mine part. The same goes for Jo Grant, K-9, and Romana I. I think it was the brightness of Liz’s ginger hair that blinded me. Either that or the sheer tremendosity of her ShawBun™ did it. Ah, well, never mind. I’m going to only do one this year anyway and have the six choices listed above as the subjects. It’ll be the Fabulous Rotating Companion Calendar!
Speaking of such things – ginger physicists and their tremendous hairstyles (until the wigs took over, at any rate), me mum and I watched Spearhead from Space last night. Once the old girl got over the sheer lack of skirt ourn Liz was wearing, I pointed out the skirt from Doctor Who and The Silurians was likely shorter.

Eventually, I quieted down about the ShawBun™ and learned my mother knows exactly how the ShawBun™ is created and even illustrated it, sort of. So, I am not only in awe of Liz’s ShawBun™ (and the fact that the shade of ginger she was sporting matched not only her outfit, but the wood paneling in the Brigadier’s office as they had their very very first tête–à–tête), but I am in awe of me mum for knowing how to achieve such tremendosity. In fact…if I could find the accoutrement that she described as a rat, I could probably get the same result.

Hi!
Hope you are having a good weekend so far. I like your picture of the gravestone of Virginia Rappe. I read the story about her life and death on Wikipedia. Have you ever heard of Lillian Gish? She was an actress back then and she was a flu pandemic of 1918 survivor . Kind of neat!
take care,
Mike
Hey Mike!
Oh, Lillian Gish! She was quite wonderful! I didn’t know she’d survived the flu pandemic, though. I’m glad you liked the picture of Virgina Rappe’s gravestone. It’s a sad story all the way around, from her dying so young to her death ruining Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle’s career for the most part. He was on his way to a comeback when he died. He was rather young, as well.
