Home again today and losing my mind
At least I’m feeling better than I have since Friday and haven’t spent the day in bed. I’m still not at 100% and since I don’t know if I’m contagious, I’ve opted out of my calligraphy class this evening. My project got messed up, at any rate and since I don’t have the patience now to rework it, it’s just as well. There’s something about the paper I chose that plays quite nicely with watercolors, but with ink, not so much. But I did finally complete Jen’s birthday present I’ve been working on for a couple weeks and should be able to get it into the mail tomorrow. It’s now officially one week late.
While The Sea Devils has been playing in the background, I’ve completed the second of my 2010 calendars – Terminator Girls, and since I never did cotton much to Shirley Manson in her role, only Sarah Connor and Cameron are represented. Grab it here if you’d like.
A few quick things about Doctor Who knocking round my wee brain: it seems to me the characters fell for the the entire Master angle a bit too easily, like no one ever even questioned who he was or why he was called the Master. Come to think of it, the same holds true for the Doctor. But the one difference: the Doctor had his delightful (and delightfully sassy and booted) companions. And speaking of companions, as much as I absolutely adore Sarah! Jane! and Liz and their respective relationships with the Doctor, I think the relationship Jo had with him was the sweetest, with Sarah! Jane!’s coming in a close second. It makes sense, doesn’t it, since Jo was with him for the longest time? Of the three pairings, the chemistry was the strongest with Jo, though she was totally on the other side of the spectrum from Liz. Sarah! Jane! proved the perfect middle ground between brainbox Liz (though she really wasn’t allowed to show off her smarts too often nearly enough) and flighty but well-meaning Jo.
