Jo is pretty awesome; I've been rewatching a lot of her stories recently and of Three's companions, I think they had the sweetest relationship, if not the best of the three. I've never seen the movie - I tried once, but there was something about it that rubbed me the wrong way. Jo is pretty awesome; I’ve been rewatching a lot of her stories recently and of Three’s companions, I think they had the sweetest relationship, if not the best of the three.

I’ve never seen the movie – I tried once, but there was something about it that rubbed me the wrong way. Perhaps it’s time to try again! =)

But how she would have fit into the deliberately more lightweight Season 8 is anyone's guess. ( Plus Caroline John was pregnant at the time which would have limited her time on the show anyway. ) BTW the character of Grace Holloway from the Paul McGann TV movie didn't travel in the Tardis either, but there's always been some debate over whether she was a bona fide companion.
