McCoy and Aldred
I’m giving them another go. I’m trying, really I am. That I haven’t taken out the disk and replaced it with The Three Doctors or (dare I admit this?) Inferno has got to prove I honestly am trying, but it’s not easy. Why I’m having so much trouble with them is beyond me; it’s the late 80s, so I can totally relate to Ace’s wardrobe on a radically different level than I ever could relate to Sarah! Jane!’s and that should be enough to get me through. If I can sit through six nine years of 70s sartorial magic, why can’t I do the same for clothing I can grok from a practical, “OH MY GOD! I used to dress like that!” standpoint?
Yeah. I’m not sure, either.
Ace is pretty wicked, though, which makes this even more of a conundrum.

Which episodes are you watching? Some of the early McCoy stories make me cringe but I thought they were improving in his last season, just before the inevitable axe fell…..
BTW my son is 10 and his fave Doctors are McCoy, Troughton and Hartnell. I’ve tried to interest him in Three and Four but he’s not really bothered. Strange :-)
Oi, I just finished “The Greatest Show in the Galaxy,” though I slept through the last two parts. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one all the way through. And before that was “Silver Nemesis.” I really don’t get my aversion to this particular era, considering I remember those years much more than I do the Pertwee years or most of the T Baker years, given my age for each…Interesting your son’s favorites include Hartnell and Troughton. Actually, that’s pretty damn awesome. Now to have Pertwee join that club! =)
