The headline should read:

The Companion Spreadsheet project

I use a spreadsheet at work that does everything except input the data for my monthly management meetings. Now if I could just figure that part out… It does all sorts of fancy things that I’d love to incorporate into my Companion Spreadsheet, but alas! It was not I who set it up, though I could likely figure out how to bastardize a certain portion of said spreadsheet for my evil fangirl ends.

Do you think I should break it down a) by years only or b) by months? Also, c) by transmission date or d) production date? I’m voting for the b-c combination.

Why do I think these types of things are a good idea?

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any new palettes and colors, and now that I’ve screencapped the hell out of every single P.R.O.B.E. episode, a whole new world’s opened up. The Liz Shaw Palette Project has risen from the dead!

No longer with UNIT, apparently no longer a physicist from Cambridge, but still scathing and smarter than everyone else in the room. (Ghosts of Winterborn)

“Uncharacteristically for a woman, Liz smoked a pipe.” And was willing to share it with others, only to snatch it back when it became apparent it’d been a mistake. *cough cough* (Ghosts of Winterborn)

InterrogationInterrogation

Liz is caught out, playing at being a legitimate interrogator. She could have called in the Brigadier, but things were still strained between them, even after all these years. The chaps at UNIT still referred to the incident as “Geneva’s Own J. Edgar Hoover Mishap.” Liz was still pissed because the Brig’d split the seams on her favorite mini. (Devil of Winterborn)

Well, at least this is the thought I had when I finally exited Telstar this morning. It was one of those mornings when even the most mundane tasks seemed to be infinitely more important than getting to work on time.

But back to the reboot. I’ve obviously gone as far with Sarah! Jane! as I can (please, get  your collective minds out of the gutter!), so the next apparent companion would be Jo. Of course, I’d prefer to obsess a little more about Liz’s outfits, but fear I couldn’t devote an entire series to it, since the poor dear was only around for a handful of serials. However, I’m certainly confident enough in my fangirl status to be able to put something together in that vein.

But back to everyone’s favorite ham-fisted bun vendor: I do need to get a bit better with her stories, so I can recognize dialog and wardrobe down to the serial and perhaps chronology. So, what do you think? Fashionista Fu, the Jo Grant series?

“Trap One, do you read me…oh, wait. That’s not right. This is one of those cell phones, isn’t it? Well, it certainly reminds me of a walkie talkie, especially with this bloody ginormous antenna.”

Liz, twenty-odd years after the situation where she found herself kidnapped by some less-than-threatening thugs, recalls the white floppy hat she sported before and after her kidnapping.

Short skirt haiku

8 Apr 10

Between this site and that site, I’ve gotten more hits than I’ve seen in a long time and it’s all got to do with the short skirt haiku series I did some time ago. I mean, who doesn’t love a 70s companion in a short skirt?

But more to the immediate point (and because I know I’m pathetically* stuck on Three and his companions more than most people can comprehend), who doesn’t love a millennial companion and her short skirts?

Perhaps it’s got something to do with Amy Pond and her short skirts (though in this shot, I’m fairly confident Liz and Jo beat this skirt by a bit). Yes, I think that’s likely it. And though I haven’t seen the newest episode yet, I’m also fairly confident I’ll stay pathetically* stuck on Three and his companions for the long haul.

* I am allowed to call my adoration pathetic. Everyone else must call it charming or endearing, or at the very least, interesting. Thank you for your kee-yop-pa-yation on this.
