Paul McCartney, how I absolutely adore you for writing this song. Frankly, I’ve given up on the sentiment, but still find your song strangely soothing and almost wistful that I hadn’t given up on your lovely sentiment.

And quick, at 1:38, is that…RINGO STARR? And God knows who else I just don’t recognize…

Plus, the ubiquitous Linda McCartney? I have always loved her for some reason.

Plus the London cityscape? Without question, one of my very favorite things in the world.

I can wait another day until I call you
You’ve only got my heart on a string and everything a flutter
But another lonley night (and another, and another)
Might take forever (and another, and another)
We’ve only got each other to blame
It’s all the same to me love
’cause I know what I feel to be right
No more lonely nights
No more lonely nights
You’re my guiding light
Day or night I’m always there

May I never miss the thrill of being near you
And if it takes a couple of years
To turn your tears to laughter
I will do what I feel to be right

No more lonely nights
Never be another
No more lonely nights
You’re my guiding light
Day or night I’m always there
And I won’t go away until you tell me so
No I’ll never go away

Yes I know what I feel to be right
No more lonely nights
Never be another
No more lonely nights
You’re my guiding light
Day or night I’m always there
And I won’t go away until you tell me so
No I’ll never go away
I won’t go away until you tell me so
No I’ll never go away
No more lonely nights, no no …

is there anyone left who cares about a hairstyle icon?

Yes. Yes, there is. And her name is Mickey “I’m so over MJ’s buying Junior’s Farm*” Glitter, who was much more readily influenced by one season of Farrah Fawcett than the entire library of Michael Jackson from his “Thriller” days and beyond, with the exception of any music he recorded with Sir Paul.

Please note: This does not include Ebony and (fucking) Ivory.

*THE* Hairstyle icon with her red-swoosh classic leather Nikes.

I had these sneakers and wore them every day. I loved them.

*Junior’s Farm references a song recorded by Paul McCartney and Wings in 1974. I still think Paul got the shit end of the stick from his good friend Michael Jackson and this is my way of stating such a thing. Please, leave no comments that it was the Beatles’ body of work MJ bought, not Wings. As far as I know, good ol’ Freaky Mike didn’t buy the Wings library, but if I am wrong about that, please let me know. With backup references.
