astronomy - i fancy myself a poor astronomer; i like looking at the sky and sometimes i even take my telescope along. there was a time i could diagram the phases of the moon. these days, i can barely find the moon in the sky.

buster keaton - favorite silent film actor, hands down. he’s creepy looking and kind of grumpy, too (old stone face!), but i really dig him.

carole lombard - giving myrna loy serious competition for holder of favorite. classic. actress. ever.

celluloid-a-go-go - a handy guide of what movies i’ve watched and their release date.

claudette colbert - to be consolidated into the more general “film” category, although she is just delectably adorable.

computer - wherein kvetching about any of my three computers is likely to be filed.

conundrums - i think i’m relieving this category of its duty.

curtained off - where i list movies i’ll have to lock up when the niecettes visit.

doctor who - here, have a jelly baby.

downloads - links to download sites, or files i have made available

dreams - then i walked into the room and it was a checkerboard. there was a giraffe playing the violin. i wonder what that’s supposed to mean.

excerpt - i write. and sometimes i share it. most of the time, i don’t.

exploitastic! - a relatively new category, where i keep track of the exploitation movies i’ve seen

factory - how i referred to my place of employment here at scs, and will no doubt refer to that new place of employment i need to find.

fashionista - clothing, used mainly in reference to a certain who companion and her wardrobe, but sometimes it’s about my wardrobe.

femmelectric - to quote myself from april: a repository of pictures and blurbs about women who catch my eye for whatever reason. most entries will focus on studio system actresses, as well as silent movie actresses, as well, but really, any X chromosome is up for inclusion.

film - ramblings, observations, and (over)-analysis of the movies. any film is fair game.

film obscuria - ramblings, observations, and (over)-analysis of the odd things i find in movies and are naturally all that more fascinating.

hedfonika - a snapshot of songs getting heavy rotation on my ipod or computer, or in my car. headphones not mandatory, but preferred. the big, 70s headphones especially.

hifa - home improvements for amusement, or how i spruced up my villa!

honor blackman - favorite. actress. ever. not so many entries at the moment, but just wait ’til i get back onto an honor blackman kick.

it’s my life - slice of life posts, with nothing too personal (or incriminating); there’s another category for that…at the moment.

jon pertwee - the dapper third doctor. i think he may be the only doctor i’ve pontificated on at any length. i may remove this category, since the doctor who category would cover them all.

junk drawer - where i put posts that really have no where else to go.

just plain weird - anything remotely odd. i may remove this category, too.

k9 - the daft tin dog of doctor who fame. he so deserves his own category.

KaTe bush - the one. the only. she is the goddess in my personal musical pantheon.

lesbians - yes, please.

letters - i’ve started collecting images of the letter M and i thought it would be brilliant to make a separate category for the entries when i post them.

lyrics - song lyrics; can be somewhat related to hedfonika, but not necessarily.

music - rather self-explanatory, hmmm?

myrna loy - favorite. classic. actress. ever. (although she’s getting a run for her money from carole lombard!)

online tests - results from these little time-suckers.

opiate - ramblings, observations, and (over)-analysis of television. any program is fair game.

personal - “it’s my life” kicked up about a million bajillion notches. there used to be a lot more of these types of posts in past incarnations of scs. i try to keep them to a minimum now. i may consolidate this with “it’s my life,” or i may just rename it.

poetry - i don’t like poetry as a rule, but every once in a great while, i’ll find something i like and feel it necessary to share it with the world at large.

quotes - not to be confused with scs:quotes; rather, this is for quotes worked into posts or quotes not kooky enough to make the cut for “quote of the moment.”

resquiat in pace - when people die and go to hell. or heaven. or just die. i’m not sure about this heaven and hell business.

sam phillips - to be consolidated into the more general “music” category and removed; i love you, sam, but KaTe is the only singer to get her very own category.

sarah jane smith - piccadilly flower girl and companion to the third and fourth doctors; k-9’s mistress. i absolutely adore her and have been known to refer to her as “my sarah jane.”

silents - you know, movies didn’t always have sound. this is where i record those i’ve read.

sundry thoughts - to be consolidated with “junk drawer.”

t’pau - to be consolidated into the more general “music” category and removed; i love you, carol decker, but KaTe yadda yadda yadda.

t. s. eliot - i was on a eliot kick not too long ago. this category is going the way of the dodo and will be consolidated into “poetry.”

tardiscloset - the exploits and excitements of creating a room of my own in a two-room villa i share with no one. i never let the voices inside my head out because they’re on permanent time-out.

tardisvision - doctor who needed his own category to keep track of the serials i’ve watched. this is it.

telly - to be removed.
